His way of working matches his personality: friendly & reliable. Since May 2018, Jürgen now supports the QA department with his helpful nature. His broad knowledge of the ondeso applications and their technical background contributes to the fact that he can react flexibly to any problem and thus always has a solution to hand. No matter if software tests of the products or the conception and implementation of the user manual, Jürgen always enjoys his work.
We are therefore looking forward to an entertaining interview with you:
What is your favorite song at the moment?
I don’t have a favorite song. Good lyrics are more important to me and preferably in Bavarian dialect.
Would you rather be invisible or be able to read minds?
That depends on the situation, but I personally think that with the ability to read minds you could gain an extremely deep understanding of people.
How would you explain your job at ondeso to a 5-year-old?
Like stacking building blocks: if they are arranged correctly on top of each other and the tower is stable, then I have done everything right.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
My favorite character would be Super Mario. Solving tricky tasks all day and achieving a high score in the evening, that would be great.
What are your top 3 hobbies?
1. Dancing tango, perfect to improve concentration.
2. Motorcycling, perfect to relax and get your mind off things.
3. Cross-country skiing, to build up stamina and stay fit.
Since I work in the QA department, my main task is testing our software products. A typical workday for me starts with a look at the pull request board to see which tests are currently scheduled. Then the test with the highest priority is started. First, a test plan is created for this test case, which includes the test procedure and the test cases. The second step is to set up the corresponding test environment. After that, the actual test execution can be started. For this purpose, it is checked whether the required functionality is given. If this is not the case, an error report is created and the so-called bug is fixed by our development department. If the bug could be eliminated, a retest follows. If the required functionality is then given, the test was successful and the pull request can be transferred to the master. Thus the first test of the day is finished and I can start with the next one.
They would probably describe me as curious, calm and reasonable. At the same time, however, they would probably also mention my desire to find as many bugs as possible. In addition to this accuracy, however, the most important thing to me here is the teamwork, because only as a team can we ensure the best possible quality of the software.
Even as a teenager, computers like ATARI, C64 and Co. interested me far more than cars. Nevertheless, I started with an apprenticeship as a retail salesman. Then, by chance, I ended up at an insulating glass manufacturer in production control. From then on, it was clear to me that the future is in IT, because without IT nothing would work. That’s why I completed another apprenticeship, this time as an IT coordinator. Further training as a database and network administrator followed in the course of time.
I came to ondeso through a very unconventional job interview. At this point, I had already had enough of these standard job interviews, but the interview at ondeso was completely different. It quickly became apparent that the slogan “The “WE” is ondeso” is not just said but lived. And when I was invited to the release barbecue and got to know the team, it was clear to me that this was the right place for me. Until today, more than 3 years later, I have not regretted my decision for a second.
Here, other team members from our departments introduce themselves
and give an insight into their daily work at ondeso.
